Two years after their last successful album, I And Love And You,The Avett Brothers have finally graced our ears with a single for their upcoming new album, The Carpenter, called Live and Die.

With the guidance of producer, Rick Rubin, The Avett Brothers have released a slice of musical heaven with Live and Die. This track is a wonderful, good ol’ fashioned love song that reminds me why I fell in love with this band in the first place. The sound reminds me a lot of I And Love And You (more produced then their other albums, Emotionalism and A Carolina Jubilee) and contains the same poppy awesomeness (thanks Rick Rubin) that made their last album so successful. Banjo and fiddle solos with a bit of a jazz drumming make this a beautiful track to preview their new (and most likely breathtaking) album.

I wanna love you with more, Avett Brothers. I really do.

Their sixth album, The Carpenter, will be released on September 11.

Beirut‘s new album is a thing of beauty with some pretty goddamn beautiful tracks. The music video for The Rip Tide was just released last week! The music video follows a small sail boat on the ocean. The video appears completely normal until a wonderful splash of colors pour into the ocean and MY GOD… it couldn’t be any cooler. I freaking LOVE it. It fits this song so perfectly. Take a watch, do it now.

Mates of State is by far my favorite band of all time. No joke. I think I’d marry the husband and wife duo if I got the chance. So, each time they release something new (from snippets of their band rehearsals to new music videos) I get a little tingly inside.

Today they released the music video for their cover of Guided By Voices’ song “I am a Scientist” which is a track off of the upcoming collaboration album, “Science Fair,” which features 18 different female oriented bands covering songs about science that aim towards females (since they tend to avoid scientific fields).

Although the album isn’t released until July 3, Mates of State already is teasing us with a great snippet of the albums greatness. The song is absolutely wonderful (I would expect nothing less from them) and the music video is just so cute. I want to just squeeze that little scientist until her eyes popped out! Take a listen and then go break into the closest laboratory you can find … I’m already here devising a plan to take over the world!

Just minutes ago (that’s right, minutes) Yeasayer announced their second single from their upcoming album “Fragrant World.” The track is entitled “Longevity” and was released via music video on Youtube. They even offered it for free download on their site.

The track itself makes me trip balls and I swear at one point I felt my brain orgasm. That’s right .. sex in music form. Unlike their first single from the new album, this track has a distinct drive to it. Although it isn’t as easy listening as their other single, it most definitely gives me chills. The video is as equally trippy and makes me want to drop some acid and attempt to play with all the fun colors. Take a listen, take a watch .. then go a little insane.

The track listing for the new album:

01. Fingers Never Bleed
02. Longevity
03. Blue Paper
04. Henrietta
05. Devil and the Deed
06. No Bones
07. Reagan’s Skeleton
08. Demon Road
09. Damaged Goods
10. Folk Hero Shtick
11. Glass of the Microscope
